Udruga za promicanje aktivnog građanstva – ECHO is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded with the aim of promoting civil society and protecting human rights, especially those of children and youth, migrants and women. The ECHO project team has developed numerous initiatives focused on women and other socially vulnerable groups, addressing topics such as gender equality and media literacy. Their experience spans several areas relevant to the objectives of this project: supporting and empowering women, encouraging their more active participation as citizens of Croatia and the European Union and enhancing their literacy in the fields of media and the internet.
Udruga ECHO is also active in promoting employability and provides support to young people facing challenges related to limited access to education, training and employment. Within the scope of its previous projects, Udruga ECHO has organized various initiatives, round tables, trainings and conferences – such as the project “Empowering Women in Basketball” (Erasmus+ Sport), which aimed to strengthen the capacities of women in basketball.
ECHO’s participation is key to the effective implementation of this project, as the organization promotes the inclusion of women not only through basketball, but also from a communication and advocacy perspective.
Udruga ECHO is one of the leading partners in WP5: Communication and Dissemination, together with the Associação Desportiva Cultural e Social de Carvalhais from Portugal.
